About us

Walish & Stambaugh is a Brooklyn-based interior design studio founded by Danielle Walish and Jessica Stambaugh. Upon meeting in a graduate course in the history of decorative arts, Danielle and Jessica knew they had found a kindred spirit in one another. Within a few days, they headed off antiquing and brainstorming how to set up shop together. One year later, they formed their company. W & S specializes in residential interiors that are sophisticated, layered, and livable. Trained as both designers and historians, Danielle and Jessica believe that cultivated space is the key to inspired living. The duo draw inspiration from historical precedents, and share a passion for combining current furnishings with unusual vintage and antique finds.

Danielle Walish holds a Master of Arts in Design History, from Parsons, The New School for Design, where she also trained to become an interior designer. In addition to working alongside Jessica, Danielle teaches courses in art and design history at Parsons. Influenced by her time spent living in Tuscany, Danielle values a balance of relaxed living and sophisticated restraint, always with an eye towards quality craftsmanship.

Jessica Stambaugh is trained in interior design from Parsons, The New School for Design and completed a Master’s thesis on the influence of Folk Art in 20th Century Design History at New York University. Jessica got her start in design while working for domino magazine and The Wall Street Journal. She finds inspiration in New England vernacular architecture, desert landscapes, and English country house style.
